2015 Bourgogne Blanc Cuvee Oligocene, P. Javillier

This gem of a wine is Meursault in all but name. It comes comes from the les Pellans vineyard which has brown limestone soils over villafranchian oligocene conglomerate deposits. The les Pellans vineyard is half classed in the Meursault appellation and the other half in the Bourgogne appellation despite the same soil in the entire vineyard. This is the only vineyard in Meursault having this character at this altitude in the Bourgogne appellation.

This wine exhibits a nose of great finesse. Round with lovely vivacity and freshness on the palate as well as minerality and attractive floral notes. The wine finishes with light citrus notes. This is a Bourgogne of fine finesse with great persistence on the palate, balanced and with fine aromatic freshness.
