1997 Coteaux du Layon, Moulin Touchais

At nearly 20 years old this delicious Coteaux du Layon is far from reaching the end of it's life. It has a delightful honeyed character that has developed with age, yet it still retains a vibrancy and freshness that complements its sweetness. It's a late harvest wine with just a few botrytis affected grapes so it still retains some of the quince character that Loire Valley Chenin often shows. Absolutely delicious with apple based desserts, especially the Loire Valley speciality fruit tarts and tarte tatin.
