2012 Cremant de Loire, Chateau Brissac

Being a cremant the production process for this wine is similar to that used in Champagne, but in the Loire it is the Chenin Blanc grape that takes center stage. The result is a sophisticated, very classy sparkling wine that compares extremely favourably with Champagne. It's got a vibrant yet fine bubbled fizz and flavours of ripe apple and greengage, with a hint of brioche from the ageing process. This really is exceptional value for money.
